The ever famous battleship has hit the bench. To get things started, I have decided to build this one full hull even though I am urged to build it waterline and put it in some rough seas. I will be building the Tamiya 1/350 kit with alot of add ons. This is meant to be a long haul project, so I will be starting off by planking the decks in basswood strips, which have finally arrived (was a long wait, must have been the holidays). I will also use the WEM PE sets to finish it off. I started by making a nice oak base and will post photos of the project as it progresses in sections. The base and lower hull have been marked for mounting and pre-drilled. I will be marking the kit as she appeared just before her sinking. Look for photo progress updates shortly....
